The heating elements of the muffle furnace are generally silicon carbide rods or silicon molybdenum rods. The silicon molybdenum rod resistance heating element is a high temperature resistant and oxidation resistant resistance heating element made of molybdenum disilicide. When used in a high-temperature oxidizing atmosphere, a bright and dense quartz (SiO2) glass film will be formed on the surface, which can protect the inner layer of the silicon molybdenum rod from oxidation. Therefore, the silicon molybdenum rod element has unique high temperature oxidation resistance.
In an oxidizing atmosphere, the maximum operating temperature is 1800¡ãC. The resistance of the silicon molybdenum rod heating element increases rapidly with the increase of temperature, and the resistance value is stable when the temperature does not change. Under normal circumstances, the resistance of the component will not change with the length of use. Therefore, new and old silicon molybdenum rod heating elements can be mixed.
According to the structure, working atmosphere and temperature of the heating equipment, the correct selection of the surface load of the heating element is the key to the service life of the silicon molybdenum heating element.
